Who we are

Zonova Mist Guest House ("we", "us") is a guest house at 41/1, Mihindupura, Mipilimana, Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. This policy explains what personal information we collect through https://mist.zonova.lk, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

What we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us. Specifically:

• Booking enquiry form. Your name, the room you are interested in, your preferred check-in and check-out dates, the number of guests, and anything you write in the message box. You must also tick a box confirming you accept this policy and our Terms & Conditions. The form cannot be sent without it.
• Direct contact. If you message us on WhatsApp, call or email, we receive whatever you send, including your phone number or email address.
• On arrival. When you check in we may record the details Sri Lankan law requires a guest house to keep for its guest register.

We do not run advertising trackers or analytics on this site, and we do not buy, sell or rent personal information to anyone.

How your enquiry reaches us

This website has no booking database and no server of its own. When you send the enquiry form, your browser opens either WhatsApp or your email app with the message already written out, and you send it yourself. In practice that means:

• Cloudflare hosts this website and serves the pages to you.
• WhatsApp (Meta) carries the message to our reservations number, under their own privacy terms, if you choose that option.
• Your email provider carries it instead, if you choose to send by email.

Nothing you type into the form is stored by the website itself. Your enquiry only exists in your own WhatsApp or email account and in ours, both of which are access-controlled.

Bookings made elsewhere

If you book through Booking.com or Airbnb, that platform collects your information under its own privacy policy and passes us what we need to host your stay. This policy covers what we do with it once we receive it, not what the platform does.

Your consent

We rely on your consent, given by ticking the box on the enquiry form, to hold your enquiry and reply to it. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing mist@zonova.lk, and we will delete the correspondence unless we are required to keep it.

Why we use it

• To check availability and reply to your enquiry.
• To hold and prepare for your booking, and to reach you about your stay.
• To keep the guest records required of us by law.
• To meet our accounting obligations.

We do not send marketing emails, and we will not add you to a mailing list because you enquired about a stay.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to answer you and to host your stay, then delete it when it no longer serves a purpose. Records tied to a completed booking are kept as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete your information; or
• stop using it for a particular purpose.

Email mist@zonova.lk and we will respond as quickly as we reasonably can.

Storage on your device

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. In fact this site sets no cookies at all. It stores one small item in your browser to remember that you dismissed the WhatsApp chat prompt, so it does not reappear on every page. See our Cookies Policy for the detail and how to clear it.

Photos

The photographs on this site are of the property and its surroundings. We do not publish photographs of guests without asking them first.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because it holds no database and no accounts, there is no store of guest information here to breach. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care with what you send us.

Children

This site is intended for adults making travel arrangements. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
